One of the great privileges of serving as mayor is that I have the opportunity to tell the story of Danville and the Dan River Region. Our story is one of incredible opportunities and boundless potential.
We have some real partners in making all of this happen. They include Pittsylvania County and our other neighboring jurisdictions, as well as numerous local, regional, state and national agencies and organizations.
Together, we are working hard to provide our city with opportunities to thrive. Together, we are making our city a welcoming place that embraces inclusion and diversity. Together, we are building a stronger Danville and region.
The River District is booming. Private investment have led to the repurposing of buildings for residential units and thriving businesses including retail shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.
The Dan River Region has many options when it comes to wellness and a relationship with nature. The Riverwalk Trail takes centerstage offering a beautiful atmosphere for those seeking a breath of fresh air.
In 2014, The Daily Beast recognized Galileo Magnet High School as one of the country’s top high schools. Forest Hills Elementary School was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon Award-Winning School.
The Dan River Region offers a wealth of opportunities for those interested in the arts. There are museums and art galleries catering to science, history, and art. Live music is thriving in the area. It’s easy to catch a set of good music on most evenings.
Danville is in the midst of a historic revitalization. "Reimagine That" is the city's new identity.
